Ever wanted a more personal tour of our market? Have some family in town you want to impress with our local food cornucopia?
Let our enthusiastic Market Guide volunteers lead you on Taste of the Market Tours to help you become more comfortable and familiar with the market! They'll highlight the wide variety of foods available at the market and discuss strategies they employ to shop at the market without feeling overwhelmed.
Taste of the Market Tours start at the Friends of the Farmers Market table at 1pm on Saturdays through the season. Join a FREE tour and learn something new about a vendor you've never visited.
HOW OUR VOLUNTEERS HELP
Market Guides are enthusiastic volunteers who often frequent the Farmers Market. They are familiar with the "ins and outs" of shopping at the farmers market and are eager to share what they know with members of the public interested in learning more!
We look for reliable, knowledgable, and enthusiastic volunteers interested in sharing with the public why the farmers market is so great. Ideally our volunteers have experience public speaking and are familiar with the wide variety of foods available at the Lane County Farmers Markets. But this is also a great venue to gain public speaking skills for those volunteers wishing to stretch their comfort zones a bit!
Our Market Guides help occupy our Friends booth and welcome market shoppers, help answer questions, and at 1pm lead an organized "Taste of the Market" tour to interested market attendees.
